Uninstall and Re-install Bluetooth Adapter

To uninstall and reinstall the Bluetooth adapter in Windows, follow these steps

Step 1: Uninstall the Bluetooth Adapter

  1. Open Device Manager:
    • Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
  2. Find the Bluetooth Adapter:
    • Expand Bluetooth to see the list of devices.
  3. Uninstall the Adapter:
    • Right-click your Bluetooth adapter (usually named something like “Intel Wireless Bluetooth” or “Realtek Bluetooth”).
    • Click Uninstall device.
    • Check Delete the driver software for this device (if prompted), then click Uninstall.

Step 2: Restart Your Computer

  • Restart your computer to allow Windows to detect and reinstall the Bluetooth adapter automatically.

Step 3: Reinstall the Bluetooth Adapter (If Not Automatically Installed)

  1. Scan for Hardware Changes:
    • Open Device Manager again.
    • Right-click the computer name at the top and select Scan for hardware changes.
  2. Manual Installation (if needed):
    • Visit the manufacturer’s website to download and install the latest Bluetooth driver for your device.

Step 4: Verify Installation

  1. Check Bluetooth Settings:
    • Open Settings > Bluetooth & Devices and make sure Bluetooth is turned On.
  2. Test Device Pairing:
    • Try connecting a Bluetooth device to ensure the adapter works properly.
